The second Asia-Oceania Kyudo Seminar has been announced. It will be in Nagoya, April 12-14 plus a special (optional) international shinsa on April 15. The seminar is open to members of the Kyudo Association of New Zealand, the Taiwan Kyudo Association, and foreign kyudoka in Japan who are members of a local ANKF association. Members of other IKYF associations members, or kyudoka from countries that have not joined the IKYF should consult the organizers (which I guess means it’s possible to attend if you jump through some hoops). Cost is ¥10,000 for the seminar and does not include transportation, accommodation, meals, etc. Fees for the special international shinsa are also separate.
I’ve heard good things about this seminar. In contrast to the International Seminar of Budo Culture in Chiba (the 25th seminar should be coming up in March), this one is all Kyudo all the time. The other nice thing is that the shinsa written test is available in languages other than Japanese.
